A “great family day out” will fill the coffers of two charitable trusts.
All profits for the Geraldine Lioness Lions Club’s Garden and Home Expo will go to the Westpac Helicopter Trust and the Geraldine Bus Trust.
Publicity Officer Bev Gregan said the expo, which would be held in the Geraldine Primary School Hall and grounds, would have 60 stalls and “a variety of goods to see and buy”.
Mrs Gregan said there would be lots of free children’s activities, workshops, demonstrations and chainsaw carving.
She said one of the workshops demonstrated how to make glass jewellery.
The expo would provide “lots of choices for everyone”.
“On Saturday there is a free question-and-answer gardening session at the hall with John Jackson gardening expert.
“On Sunday there will be a very interesting garden foraging workshop and two other gardens will be open to visit for a donation.”
There would also be a special movie at the Geraldine cinema Time Travel guide to Hamilton Gardens on the Saturday and Sunday.
“We look forward to seeing a great crowd so mark your calendar and come over to Geraldine for Matariki weekend.”
The event would take place on July 11, from 10am-3pm.
Entry was $10 for adults while children were free.
