Hot and humid conditions greeted top athletes from around the country as they travelled to Timaru to compete in the 20th edition of the Lovelock Classic on Saturday. Reporter Connor Haley captured some of the afternoon’s action.

University of Canterbury’s Ethan Smolej (left) wins the men’s A mile for the second year in a row with a time of 4min 18.58sec.
