With Daffodil Day tomorrow, the Cancer Society has been busy all week bunching and delivering flowers around the South Canterbury region.

Staff and volunteers bunched 44,000 stems of daffodils, which resulted in 880 bunches being delivered to businesses and in personal orders.

Members of the South Canterbury Vintage Car Club picked up deliveries on Monday and will hold a rally on Sunday at Caroline Bay at 9am.

Tomorrow and Saturday there will be various collection points around town to help fundraise for the Cancer Society.

Cancer Society South Canterbury manager Leola Wilson said it was good to be able to see the community getting behind it, especially after Covid-19.

‘‘It’s really nice and the ladies here have been working hard,’’ she said.

Other organisations around the region are doing their own fundraisers to support the Cancer Society.

UBake is selling daffodil cupcakes for $4.50, with $1 going to the society.

Ballantynes is hosting high› tea until tomorrow and you can check times and book through its portal.

Insurance broker Crombie and Lockwood is running a swear jar with funds being donated to the Cancer Society.
