Vehicles of all makes and models are being invited to make the trek to Caroline Bay this weekend to take part in a car show for a good cause.
Organised by various individuals and car clubs around Timaru, the All Comers Car Show is back for a second year and is aiming to once again have a plethora of cars, trucks, utes and motorcycles on display.
Co-organiser Craig Timmings said it was great to be holding the display again after a successful debut last year.
‘‘We had 130 cars, which is pretty good for a first year.
‘‘It’s just a bunch of people from all the different clubs in Timaru, getting together and running a car show to raise some money for charity.’’
He said all funds from this year’s event would be donated to Cardiac Kids Club and Hato Hone St John.
‘‘It’s pretty important to do it for charity. A lot of these charities don’t have a lot of money, so any donation we can give them is hopefully going to help.
‘‘We don’t take any money out, we’ve got sponsors to pay for signs and there are quite a few sponsors of people and trophies.’’
Co-organiser Bruce Todd said absolutely any vehicle was welcome to take part in the display.
‘‘You can bring your Fiat Bambina if you want. It doesn’t matter what car you’ve got, or motorbike, or truck. If you think your truck’s cool, bring it down.’’
The show will take place on Sunday from 10am-2pm.
There is a $10 car entry fee and a gold coin donation for spectators.
Anyone wishing to have a vehicle in the display needs to have their car down at Caroline Bay by 7.30am.
