The weather did not disappoint as this year’s Children’s Day played out on Sunday in the heat of the sun. Reporter Connor Haley captured some of the free family fun enjoyed at Caroline Bay.

Family Fun . . . Nic and Robbie McKenzie enjoy a day out with Maverick, 6 and Margot, 11 months.

All aboard . . . The little train proved to be a very popular activity.

Up and away . . . Children made the most of the Caroline Bay Association rides being free for the day.

Community service . . . Renee Haumu and June Boulden stepped forward for South Canterbury Plunket, one of many organisations offering activities in the Caroline Bay Hall.

Clowning around . . . Adam Allsorts entertained audiences with his balloon animal-making skills.
