The cast and crew are taking to the boards as Piraticus Rex opens at The Playhouse this week.
The show was originally supposed to open last week but when Covid-19 struck members of the production, it had to be postponed and new dates scheduled.
Now the cast and crew are back and ready to give audiences a taste of dinner theatre, something not done for several years.
Cast member Kit Winter-Davis plays multiple roles in the show and said it would have been unlikely that such an eclectic group of people would come together under normal circumstances.
‘‘But with the patience and expertise of our very experienced directors, a synergy has been created.’’
Piraticus Rex was written by the late Aaron Williams and is now being brought to the stage by his friend, show director Aaron Segar.
Cast member Marque Lamont, who plays the leading pirate, said that with an awesome cast from all walks of life it was good to be back on stage.
‘‘It is really great to be up and running again as a cast in the wake of our recent Covid-19 scandal.’’
Cast member Kim Dixon, who also plays multiple roles, said she was glad it was on her bucket list of things to do.
‘‘The cast is like a family and it has been an awesome experience so far.’’
