While work on the outside of the Temuka Courthouse Museum is almost complete, it will not be opening any time soon.

Project co-ordinator Pat Mulvey said they were on course for work to be signed off by an engineer on October 20.

The earthquake strengthening was nearing completion.

‘‘The structural work is complete and brick work has nearly been reinstated.’’ After getting sign-off, the group would begin the task of getting everything back into the museum. However, they were ‘‘cautious’’ about setting a date for reopening. ‘‘It’s about money at the moment. ‘‘It will happen when it happens.’’ The group was searching for funding for display cabinets. With fundraising for the project ongoing, any assistance would be greatly appreciated, he said.
