Cody Crawshaw (17) was named the best all-round sportsperson at the 2019 Opihi College awards last Friday.
He started the year by winning athletics for his grade and beating the long-standing school triple jump record.
In March, he won the South Island Secondary School Duathlon Championship.
In cross-country he was two seconds off the school record and represented Opihi College in the Aoraki and the national events in Timaru.
He also represented the school in road cycling and, for the fourth consecutive year, badminton in Timaru.
He played hockey for Temuka and was an umpire and coach.
His awards included the Peattie Family Trophy for the best all-round senior sportsman and the Juriss Cup for the best all-round sportsperson.
