New venue proves a winner

The new Trust Aoraki Hockey Centre was put to the test last week for the Timaru Boys’ High School pre-season Anzac Tournament.

The three-day tournament featured 26 games and 13 teams from secondary schools all around the South Island.

Reporter Connor Haley captured some of the final day’s action.

Star . . . TBHS player Austin Gabites-Greenall was a standout player as his team went on to beat St Bede’s College 11-0 in the final game of the tournament.
