Archery competition opportunity for youth

The arrows were flying at Martin’s Field in College Rd last Saturday for the inaugural Middle Town Classic 720 archery competition. It was the first high-level tournament the Timaru Archery Club had hosted since Covid and served as a way for local youth archers to gain qualifying scores for the trans-tasman competition in Christchurch this September.

Taking aim . . . More than 20 archers ranging from youths to adults took part in the competition.
Bullseye . . . The targets met world archery standards and ranged from 35m to 70m in distance.
