Timaru firm Dimension Building has scooped many of the awards this year at the Mid and South Canterbury Master Builders House of the Year competition.
The competition recognises the best homes, builders and craftsmen across New Zealand, with 295 homes entered across eight regions this year.
Dimension Building won the supreme house of the year award with a holiday home in Twizel.
The build also won the new home $500,000-$750,000 category, showing that a stunning home does not need to cost more than $1 million dollars.
The home also won included the bathroom excellence award, interior design award, craftsmanship award and a gold award
The judges were impressed by the stunning holiday home, which they said ticked all the boxes for rest and relaxation.
‘‘Its design and material selection are expressions of understated elegance, which is the hallmark of this house.’’
The judges said its construction and design was truly impressive with the quality of workmanship on display everywhere.
‘‘Few other builds can deliver such exceptional quality at the given price-point.’’
Dimension Building won the new home $1.5 million to $2 million category with ahome in Rosewill, Timaru.
The house also won the outdoor living excellence award and a gold award, with the judges saying the luxurious home had been cleverly designed to utilise the surrounding environment.
Dimension Building also won the new home $2 million to $4 million category and a gold award for a home in Highfield, Timaru.
The judges said the house ‘‘makes full use of connections to the outside with a ground level courtyard and decks at the two upper levels’’.
