Timaru Power Farming ploughed through the field picking up several awards at the Power Farming high achiever awards recently.

The Timaru team took out four top gold awards at the company awards held in Denarau, Fiji, last month.

Parts manager Andrew Kaufmann received the award for parts department of the year, while dealer principal Ross Dawbin was named tractor salesman of the year and overall salesman of the year.

The business received the top honour of overall dealership of the year, beating 21 other Power Farming stores nationwide.

Tracing its heritage back to Laurie Maber and Maber Motors in 1948, Power Farming has been a separate wholesale company since securing the rights to distribute Iseki tractors in New Zealand in 1977.

Mr Dawbin said the parts department had an especially trying year.

Part to play . . . Timaru Power Farming parts manager Andrew Kaufmann is presented with his award by South Island support manager Jason Prendergast.

‘‘Andrew and Jerry have always run a very good operation and have won the award numerous times but with Covid, shipping and shortages, to get that award is pretty special for them.’’

He was especially pleased to win the overall dealership award for the first time.

‘‘We’ve got 20-odd staff and each and every one [of them] had to [do] their bit to get that award.

‘‘Workshop increased, our parts increased and our sales increased.’’

He had always wanted to win the award and to get there was pretty special.

Receiving the top salesman award in New Zealand was also huge.

Top overall salesman . . . Ross Dawbin is congratulated by Power Farming chief executive officer Tom Ruddenklau for his individual award wins.

‘‘It’s always good to be rewarded and acknowledged for the efforts you put in.

‘‘For me, though, that top dealership award is so much more important because that’s a combined effort from everyone.

‘‘We couldn’t be prouder for what we achieved.’’

The Power Farming awards have been running for the past six years. Mr Dawbin relished the competition it created between stores.

‘‘It makes you aim, look at your business and strive to be better than what you were the previous year.’’
