Kitty Rescue offers pub quiz to raise funds

Causing trouble . . . Three kittens that are in the care of PussnBoots Kitty Rescue go looking for mischief.

After a tough holiday period, PussnBoots Kitty Rescue is hosting a quiz night to try to raise important funds to help support the kittens and cats in their care.

PussnBoots Kitty Rescue founder and operator Salena Hodgson said with the rise of living costs and vet bills, they needed more funds to be able to take care of stray cats and kittens.

‘‘We have had to turn people away because we cannot afford to take the cats in and give them the care that they need.’’

She said they had had an increase in foster families, with 12 families in the region now fostering cats and kittens but they still needed more.

‘‘We don’t want to over-run the families we already have. People talk about how sad it is but noone is stepping up to help.’’

The pub quiz is one way that people can help without being committed to fostering.

‘‘On the night we are hoping for a bit of humour, a bit of fun. You don’t usually go to a pub to talk about cats and kittens. There will be prizes and raffles on the night, too.’’

The quiz night will be held on March 8 at Ascot Sportshouse and Eatery, starting at 7pm.

The cost is $10 a person, and teams can consist of four to six people.
