Fabrics are front and centre this Sunday as Altrusa International of Timaru holds its annual fabric and craft fair.

The fair is the culmination of a year of collecting and collating donations of fabrics, knitting and craft patterns, crafting supplies, haberdashery items and jigsaw puzzles for the first time.

With more than 50 boxes of donated items, this year’s fair is looking to be the biggest yet.

The fair’s hours have been extended to allow people with other commitments on the day an opportunity to go along to shop for sewing supplies.

Afterwards, the club will operate a pop-up shop at 178 Stafford St from 10am-2pm each day from Wednesday, May 21 to Saturday, May 24.

The money raised will go to literacy and service projects that will be decided after the organisation elects its new president.

The fair will be held at West End Hall on Maltby Ave from 10am-2pm.
