Prime living is being promised on Pages Rd as work on a new development steadily progresses.
Nestled in the northwest of Timaru, the new development, Pages View, will boast more than 50 sections ranging from 700sq m to 1721sq m in size.
Pages View property developer Al Bradley said the new development had been in the works for the last three to four years.
‘‘We’ve lived up here on Pages Rd for over 20 years and always had our land out the back.
‘‘Development has continued to progress up this way and when Timaru Developments bought the land to the west of us, they approached us about working together on a project to do it all at once.
‘‘They’re the professionals, development is totally new to us but they’ve been awesome to work with.
‘‘Rooney’s Earthmoving is handling the construction. They’re doing a fantastic job and staying on schedule with the project timeline, we are fortunate to have such professional companies like this to deal with in South Canterbury.’’
The slogan for the new development was ‘‘Prime Living: Where location meets lifestyle’’, he said.
‘‘That’s pretty much what it is. It’s a lovely place to live, you’ve got the golf course, the big walking track, the school is just over there and the athletics ground.
‘‘People will be able to build nice houses. They’ll be spoilt for choice, we’ve got sections that are nice, flat and secluded to the west and then to the east they’re back up against the greenway with rock walls looking out over the parks.’’
The name ‘‘Pages View’’ was an obvious choice, he said.
‘‘We sat down with Timaru Developments and thought ‘what do we want to call this area, what do we like about it?’.
‘‘We always wanted to keep the name Pages from Pages Rd.
‘‘We were just standing up in the back and we’re like, ‘look at these views’ and we said, ‘let’s call it Pages View’. It’s just sort of stuck.’’

The aim was to finish construction in mid-2025, he said.
‘‘Then title after that, which can take six to eight weeks, so I think we’ll be looking to be fully complete near the end of the year.
‘‘Pages Rd will hook up with Kelson Rd off Hunter Hills with a big roundabout at the top there, and then there’ll be a new road which is yet to be named that will come and do a wee loop.
‘‘There will be another big loop on the other side as well which is pretty much like Lazarette Loop on the other side. It’s pretty much a mirror image of that.’’
He was excited for Timaru to have the new area, he said.
‘‘Hopefully interest rates will continue to go in the right way, I know the government are really working to get building costs cheaper by allowing different materials in from overseas that are up to spec for builders.
‘‘Getting that price lower will hopefully allow for local building companies around here to pick up a lot of work on this land.
‘‘I hope giving people the chance to build and design their dream home will make people say ‘I want to live in Timaru’.’’
