A fun-filled fundraiser for Glenview Kindergarten will be a night not to be missed.

Ethel and Bethel Bingo Babes from Christchurch will host an entertaining night of bingo, with all of the proceeds going to the kindergarten.

Glenview Kindergarten teacher Lauren Rooney said the proceeds will go towards the renovation of the kindergarten’s kitchen.

‘‘The kitchen is the heart of the home and here it is the hub of the kindergarten. It will help us cook and provide meals for our tamariki (children).

‘‘It will be a great help for the community, it’s very important.’’

Parent and Glenview Kindergarten committee member Emily Maea said she attended an Ethel and Bethel event last year and said everyone felt included on the night.

‘‘It is not your usual bingo night, they are very community-orientated and it is a different kind of event but one that will be fun to come and attend, especially after Covid-19 restrictions.’’

The event is R18 and they are hoping for a good turnout and to have the community’s support behind it.

The kindergarten opened in 1974 and there are about 50 children enrolled. Up to 40 children attend each day with a mixture attending part-time and full-time. ‘‘It is a small kindergarten with a big community focus,’’ Mrs Maea said. ‘‘We like to have parents and families involved as much as possible,’’ Miss Rooney said.

On the night there would be also be a cash bar, raffles, chocolate wheel, additional bingo cards and more. Tickets are $40 and include one bingo card as well as a light supper. The event is being held at the Celtic Club rooms on November 26.
