Anzac display a hit

St Vinnie’s Anzac Day window display has been a community effort.

The window — at the St Vincent De Paul shop in Stafford St — was carefully curated by shop manager Sharon Leonard and volunteer Rose Davidson.

Mrs Leonard said some bits and pieces — like the Anzac tins and nurse’s top — had been donated to the shop, but the rest had been loaned for the occasion.

Military gear was on loan from the Geraldine Military Museum, while sailors’ uniforms had been provided by a customer who had some at home.

Staff had supplied flags and a picture of poppies, while St Vinnie’s chairman John O’Neill had provided a photo of his father who had fought in World War 1.

Mrs Davidson said they had received a lot of feedback about the display.

‘‘They love it.’’
