New Zealand Music Month is now in its third week and Rangitata list MP Jo Luxton is in the spotlight this week. She “faces the music” in the The Courier‘s music-themed Five Questions series.
Q. First album you owned?
My first album was one I won at a kids’ fun run when I was about 10, I think. It was a Split Enz one but I can’t recall the title.
Q. What’s your musical guilty pleasure?
I actually quite like a bit of reggae.
Q. Who are your favourite NZ musicians/bands (five max)?
I quite like Tahuna Breaks. Six60. Opshop. Bic Runga. The Feelers.
Q. If you had to listen to just one New Zealand song forever, what would it be?
That’s a really hard question! I’m hopeless at trying to think about things like this – I love so many! Don’t Dream It’s Over is a goodie from Crowded House.
Q. Most recent concert/gig by a NZ musician that you’ve been to?
Tiki Taane in Ashburton, June 2017.
