The month of May marks the return of New Zealand Music Month, celebrating the musical creativity of songwriters, both past and present, who hail from these shores.
To recognise the month-long Kiwi music celebration, The Courier has been asking South Canterbury music fans and musicians to list their top five Kiwi acts.
In the fifth and final week of this series, we enlisted Geraldine-based musician Zoe Scott to share her musical suggestions and why she likes them.
Marlon Williams – “I saw him perform last Tuesday in Dunedin, and am in awe of his voice and song writing abilities.”
Aldous Harding – “She inspires me to become a more creative musician.”
Kimbra – “Her new album Primal Heart is incredible.”
Phil Doublet – “[He is] one of the kindest and most talented musos in NZ.”
