Adapting to change is the theme of a public workshop to be held in Timaru on Friday.
The April 26 event, which will run from 1pm-3pm, is the latest in a series of events run by Anglican Care South Canterbury Advocacy Group member Alexia Bensemann.
Ms Bensemann is also a trained counsellor and has hosted a variety of workshops in Timaru and Geraldine, on topics including dealing with anxiety.
The April 26 workshop is the first time that “Adapting to Change” will be the topic.
Advocacy Group leader and Anglican Care SC social justice advocate Ruth Swale said the afternoon event would look at change in both a negative sense (such as grief or loss) and positive (such as a new job or relationship).
Strategies to adapt and move with change would also be taught and people could also ask questions or share their own stories.
Ms Bensemann would also look at why change impacts people so much – particularly on an emotional and physical level, why it was important for people to experience change throughout their life and whether change could be anticipated.
The workshop is free to attend but registration is required. It will run from 1pm-3pm.
