Literature came to life at Temuka Primary School last week when the school held its book character dress-up day. Hogwarts students, Cats in the Hats, Minecraft figures and even Mary Poppins made an appearance last Thursday, as part of Temuka Primary’s arts week. Principal Grant Willocks made an appearance as Bob the Builder. Courier reporter Greta Yeoman captured the fun and creativity.

Hats and hair . . . Temuka Primary pupil T-Jay Hopa-Edwin (5) was one of several Cats in the Hats at the dress-up day, while Pippi Longstocking was a more unusual choice for Abby-Rose Andrews (7).

Poppins and Potter . . . Temuka Primary's Ava Christos-Pow (8) made a very realistic remake of Mary Poppins, while Michael Shannon (8) donned the glasses, robes and fake scars as one of several Harry Potters.
