A construction project at Cannington School has a point of difference – the pupils are the builders.
The pupils were helping build a storage shed for a playgroup that uses the grounds, principal Deane Power said.
The playgroup stored its equipment in another building, but the school was set to convert that building into its library, Mr Power said.
So a plan was concocted to create a new shed for the toys, but the pupils would help build it.
The year 7 and 8 pupils were busy working on the shed when The Courier visited on Friday, preparing and spreading the concrete for the base.
The shed was set to be constructed this week, with the help of some builders, Mr Power said.
Pupil Jamie George (11) said her favourite part was spreading the concrete with a rake.
Mr Power said the playgroup numbers were expected to grow in the next few years, as there had been several births in the area and some families had moved to Cave and the surrounding district recently.Sport mediaAir Jordan 1 Low Atmosphere Grey/White-Black For Sale
