Money raised from the inaugural and highly successful Woodbury Hill Challenge on Saturday will go towards resources for Woodbury Hill School.
More than $10,000 was raised and more than 300 people took part in competitions ranging from a 4km fun run to a 27km mountain-bike ride which started and finished at Orari Gorge Station.
“There were no hiccups on the day and we had huge help from volunteers. A lot of grandparents gave up their time to help,” Jane Robb, chairwoman of the school support group which organised Saturday’s event, said.
“We have a lot of sub-committees and the sub-committee that ran Saturday’s challenge did a fantastic job.”
She said competitors had encouraged them to make it an annual event.Buy SneakersNike News
