All eyes were on young Highland dancers in Geraldine last week.

The dancers took to the stage at the Geraldine RSA rooms for their Highland dance exams on Friday, marking about 15 years since such an event had been held in the town, teacher Amanda Ruemenapf said.

Ms Ruemenapf, director and teacher of Tip Toe Dance School, was impressed with the talent on show.

” [I] was very happy with [the] 37 dance students who all passed and performed well for the examiner Julie Hawke, from Christchurch,” she said.

Dancers ranged in age from 4 to 14 and covered eight grades.
