Waituna Creek pupils (from left) Pippa Melville (8), Ciaran Keen (10), George Melville (9), Locky Kelynack (9), Dom Kelynack (7) and Lily Pay (12) learn about farming life visiting the Studholme family farm.

Waituna Creek School’s senior classes got out in the fresh air and learnt about a few aspects of farming earlier this month.

Tour guide Dan Studholme showed pupils, staff and parent helpers around the shearing shed on his family farm and then took the group to another local farm to see cattle and farm machinery.

The trip was made possible thanks to a initiative between farm owners and managers, New Zealand Young Farmers and Red Meat Profit Partnership.
