Children will get an opportunity to get active when the Twizel time next month.
The event was launched in 2016 after Twizel mother Nicola Frank bring a youth event to the town.
“For the 2016 event we had 80 entries. For 2017 we hope to open the event up to 100 children,” Ms Frank said.
The event is scheduled to start at 11am on Saturday, March 11.
Ms Frank said children aged 5 to 16 would start the event at the Twizel public swimming pool, followed by a bike ride around the Twizel Area School, then a run.
“We stagger the start, there’s no first place and every child gets a T-shirt.
“It’s about being involved and being active,” she said.
“Families travelled from Tekapo, Omarama, Aoraki Mt Cook and Fairlie to take part in the event last year.
“It’s a great family event with lots of locals turning up to support the children.”
