South Canterbury’s budding young netballers will soon be shooting goals with Tactix members.
Six members of the Tactix netball team will visit Timaru as part of FutureFerns, a netball festival day, to be held at the Aorangi Stadium netball courts on March 3.
Netball South Canterbury development officer Sarah Harvey said the event would benefit youngsters keen to return to the sport this season, or those who had never played but wanted to give it a go.
Three Tactix players will assist children in years 1-4 from 10am to noon and another three will share their skills with those from years from noon to 2pm.
“They can come along and have a wee go and if they want to join in their club team or school [team] they can. We can help them on the day [to] sort all of that out.”
The skills sessions are being held throughout the mainland zone, which covers from Nelson in the north and over to the West Coast, and south to Waimate.
