As a result, a combination of golf and Christmas has emerged, and the “12 Holes of Christmas” will take place on December 9.

PTA member Trish Cameron said the aim was to establish a fun event involving teams of four to six people while raising money for the school.

The fundraiser features 12 holes of golf spread over unmanicured pastures on local farms.

“We were looking for a new fundraising idea for our small country school and we wanted a fun community event,” she said.

“With Christmas closing in, we saw the chance to make an event which also served as a Christmas do.”

A prizegiving will also take place and a Christmas dinner and dance will also be held at the end of the tournament, along with raffles.

A trophy is also up for grabs for the person who lands their golf ball in an old car.
