Netball, alpine sports, table tennis and mountain biking are among the Aoraki high school tournaments on offer this term.

The term 3 sporting calendar begins with the Aoraki Secondary School netball tournament at the Southern Trust Events Centre this Sunday.

Snow sports are next up on the Aoraki sporting calendar, as young skiers and snowboarders prepare to compete in the Aoraki Secondary Schools Skiing and Snowboard Championships next week.

The annual competition will be held at Mt Dobson on August 4, with a postponement date of August 11.

It precedes the South Island Secondary School Snow Sports Championships, which will be held at Cardrona, near Wanaka, on September 24.

The Aoraki Trap Shooting competition is set to be held on August 11, followed by the Aoraki Badminton competitions – the boys’ competition on August 13 and girls’ tournament on August 15.

The New Zealand Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week will be held from September 2-6.

Athletes of many disciplines will be spread around the country to compete in a variety of tournaments.

South Canterbury will play host to New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Gary Sowden girls’ football tournament in Timaru, from September 2-5.

The town will also host the NZSS Audrey Timlin Memorial girls’ hockey tournament from September 2-6.

The Aoraki Secondary School Table Tennis tournament will be held on September 13, while the Aoraki Mountain Bike Championships will run on September 14.

Meanwhile, Twizel is set to host the newly introduced South Island secondary school Canoe Kayaking Sprint championships in late September.Authentic Nike SneakersFASHION NEWS
