A Downtown History Walk of Timaru has given children and adults an opportunity to get outdoors these school holidays.
The walk was part of South Canterbury Museum’s “Buzz into Spring” holiday programme, which continues this week.
The hour and a-half walk, guided by museum director Philip Howe, took in a range of Timaru sites including St Mary’s Church.
The group continued along Church St to Strathallan Corner and also stopped at the Landing Service Building, where participants had a photo opportunity at the statue of Captain Henry Cain.
A range of activities has continued at the museum this week, including a “vintage games and dress-ups” event today and a “zoom in” activity tomorrow, which will allow children to explore nature through microscopes.Running sneakersAir Jordan
