More than 50 people attended a meeting to establish a community group to improve water quality and flow issues at Otipua-Saltwater Creek on the southern outskirts of Timaru.

Rhys Taylor, facilitator for the group on behalf of the Orari Temuka Opihi Pareora water zone committee, said the catchment group provided an opportunity for local people to connect and contribute to a key waterway in their area.
