Tully Rasmussen’s first Christmas is already looking bright.

The 10-week-old’s parents Sarah Beeby and Darji Rasmussen won the playhouse through the annual Timaru Suburban Lions Club competition.

Their prize was delivered on a trailer last week.

“I was just so excited,” Ms Beeby said.

“I could not believe that we had won it. It was perfect.

“I was pregnant when I bought [the ticket] and I thought ‘That would be cool’.

“That’s the best Christmas present for [Tully].”

She had forgotten buying the raffle ticket until about two weeks ago, when she heard they had won.

Lions club members have been building the playhouses and raffling them off in the lead-up to Christmas for at least 10 years, .

Club president Shirley Bryce said the fundraiser, which was always popular, had this year raised about $4500.

That money will be divided between Heart Kids South Canterbury, South Canterbury Stroke Foundation and the Child Cancer Foundation.
