It is not just Santa’s schedule that is about to get hectic – New Zealand Post’s is, too.
In anticipation of the busy Christmas season, New Zealand Post has announced its sending and delivery dates to help people get their cards and gifts to their destination on time.
NZ Post is taking on additional staff, mobilising extra vehicles and adding an aircraft to its fleet to manage the expected high volumes.
Chief operating officer Mark Stewart recommends customers do a quick check of the mailing deadlines and delivery targets now.
“We are expecting this Christmas to be our busiest ever, with millions of mail items and parcels passing through our network in December,” he said.
“Our plans are ready to ensure that we pull out all the stops right up until the last delivery day before Christmas.”
People wanting to send cards and parcels overseas in time for Christmas by International Air will need to post them by December 6 for Australia, December 1 for the South Pacific, Asia, North America, the United Kingdom and Europe, and November 29 for the rest of the world.
There are later deadlines for international courier and international express courier services in early December.
The deadline for sending mail and parcels within New Zealand by Standard Post, ParcelPost and ParcelPost Tracked is December 19.
FastPost, Courier Parcel and Courier and Signature Parcel products need to be sent by December 20.
Online shoppers buying gifts from overseas through YouShop should pay for shipping by December 3 for the standard service from the United States and UK, and by November 26 for the US economy service to ensure items arrive in time for Christmas.
Because of the statutory holidays there will be deliveries on Saturday, December 23 and Saturday, December 30, but posties and couriers will not be delivering mail or parcels on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and January 2.Nike footwearAir Jordan 5 Low China 2016
