Health and safety training

Organisations are being encouraged to get involved in a health and safety training session.
Volunteering South Canterbury is co-ordinating an interactive workshop, scheduled to be held on August 24 at the Timaru Bridge Club in Wilson St.
Volunteering South Canterbury co-ordinator Lyndal Watt said health and safety consultant and trainer Barbara Ford would be presenting a range of topics, including health and safety training for organisations, key requirements of workplace health and safety legislation, steps to implement change to meet new laws and assessing workplace risks.
‘‘It’s a refresher course after health and safety law changes in April. It’s basically a follow-up for organisations to look at how it impacts on them.’’ – The session is free for Volunteering South Canterbury members and $10 per organisation for non-members.
Registration is essential. Phone (03) 687-7364 or email by Friday next week.
