This year’s recipients of the Milford Community Charitable Trust received their grants at a community pot-luck dinner on December 6.

The trust was formed in 2007 to administer funds received from the sale of the Milford School property after the school was closed due to amalgamation.

Applicants must either be residents of the Milford district, former pupils of the Milford School, or their parents or grandparents must be former pupils of the Milford School, or residents of the Milford district.

Grants are made for educational, vocational training or personal development, with preference being given to education.

The 2019 recipients were:

Kate Blackmore, Bachelor of Environment and Society, Lincoln University.

Lily Rae, Bachelor of Commerce, economics major, University of Canterbury.

Jenna Willocks, Bachelor of Commerce, University of Canterbury, second year.

Allicia Kelly, Bachelor of Arts, University of Otago.

Kayla Bagrie, Camp America, Camp Wayne for Girls, Pennsylvania.

Grace Kelliher, Bachelor of Social Work, University of Otago.

Benjamin Ward, Bachelor of Agricultural Science, Lincoln University.

Abbey Keen, New Zealand Certificate in Animal Technology, rural animal technician, Otago Polytechnic.
