The Timaru Community Christmas Dinner is happening again this year at Caroline Bay.
Organisers are seeking food donations for the dinner.
Chief organiser Melissa Brennan said people have been very generous, but they could do with a bit more ham and canned fruit.
The organisers have received 230 bookings, but estimate 250 people will attend on the day.
The dinner welcomes allcomers, including older people, large families, and young people on their own.
There will be at least 65 volunteers to help give people a Christmas dinner that they might not otherwise have.
The dinner will be at the Caroline Bay Hall at noon on December 25.
