The South Canterbury Cancer Society is on the move, temporarily.
The team has relocated to 10a Dee St so extension work can take place at its Memorial Ave premises.
The move was likely to be for about six months, manager Leola Smith said.
Staff and volunteers assisted with the move on Tuesday, along with truck company Mainfreight, which provided a truck and driver to get the job done.
Ms Smith said because the group required a large amount of room, relocation options were limited.
However, the Dee St premises, previously home to Spotless cleaning services, would hopefully fit the bill, she said.
“We’ll be here over Daffodil Day, so we can pack daffodils in the [adjoining] garage.”
While office space at the new location was smaller compared with what the team was used to, the temporary move would be worth it in the long run.
Ms Smith said, ultimately, the group would still be able to operate the same services as it had done in the past, for the 300-plus patients on its books.
“It’s business as usual.”
