The curtain came down on the 109th Caroline Bay Carnival on Sunday afternoon.
Organisers said they were happy with how the 18-day event went.
“We had good concerts and good crowds over the holiday period,” Caroline Bay Association entertainment manager Kevin Fahey said.
“The turnover was there even though the weather was sometimes quite cool.”
Mr Fahey said the association did not normally disclose the turnover but it was more than $400,000.
Starting on Boxing Day, the carnival again proved popular with young families.
“It was good to see them out and about.”
Timaru Courier reporter Chris Tobin took some photos of the action.
