New smartphones quality, affordable

A Timaru business is proud to be the exclusive South Canterbury stockist and service agent for a new range of smartphones.
Church Street Copy & Photo is now selling and servicing the Blackview range of Android smartphones, a brand that was established in 2013 and has so far launched more than 20 independently designed smartphones.
Blackview has invested significant capital to develop a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, and produces about 800,000 phones a month.
Church Street Copy & Photo owners Melissa and Greg Sugrue said they were excited to be able to offer the phones, which they thought were quality products at an affordable price.
He had been servicing photographic and office equipment since 1989, Mr Sugrue said.
When the digital revolution picked up and people switched from analogue to digital cameras, he looked for other products to service to supplement the photographic equipment servicing. He turned his hand to servicing iPods and MP3 players, followed by iPhones and other brands of smartphone.
The Sugrues noticed with some smartphones, the high cost of replacement parts made some repairs not viable, so when offered the Blackview dealership, they saw it as a way to offer great value to everybody who wanted a smartphone. In fact, Blackview’s catchphrase is a ‘‘smartphone for everyone’’.
Before committing he dismantled a few models and saw they were well constructed and offered value for money, Mr Sugrue said. He was also impressed with the back-up provided by the master dealer for New Zealand and Australia, which was based in New Zealand.
The phones run on the 2 Degrees and Vodafone Networks, and are unlocked, so can be used on any suitable network overseas.
Church Street Copy has nine different models on display, which start at just $149 and come with a full 12-month warranty.
Church Street Copy & Photo has well-trained staff who can support customers with the usage of their smartphones, from transferring an image and printing it in store, through to ongoing support and repairs — it is truly a one-stop shop for smartphone sales and repairs.
Mr Sugrue encouraged customers to visit the store and check out the new phones.
