S.C. success shows art is blooming

South Canterbury will be strongly represented when the Floral Art Society’s 2017 diary is released later this year.
The artists who were successful in being selected to have photographs of their designs displayed in next year’s diary were announced at the National Floral Art Conference, held in New Plymouth.
South Canterbury’s successful applicants include Ruth Orange, of the Geraldine Floral Art Group, and Jenny Wallace, of the Temuka Clandeboye Floral Art Group, who each received one acceptance award. Elizabeth Chapman, also of the Geraldine group, received four acceptance awards, including the premier design award and the New Zealand indigenous floral award. Dawn Esler, of the Timaru Floral Art Group, received two acceptance awards; Gislinde Folkerts, of Geraldine, received three acceptance awards and Helen Spencer, of the Te Ngawai Floral Art Group, received four.
