Penny Ashton will perform 15 characters solo in her upcoming South Canterbury performances.
The performer and comedian will bring her Olive Copperbottom show to Twizel on April 17 and Geraldine on April 18.
Her show is a 21st-century musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, in which Ashton will sing, dance and act out 15 shady characters.
She is touring throughout smaller locations across New Zealand with support from Arts on Tour.
This is her fourth tour in eight years with the New Zealand arts funding organisation and the biggest yet.
Ashton will perform at the Twizel Events Centre on April 17 at 7.30pm, and Geraldine’s Lodge Theatre on April 18 at 7.30pm. Tickets for the Twizel show can be bought at the Twizel Information Centre and the Geraldine show tickets can be bought from LOUK Clothing in the Old Post Office.
