Clouds of colour filled the air in Temuka last weekend.
People of all ages flocked to the town for the return of the popular Temuka Colour Canter, held on the domain oval on Saturday.
The event, which is in its second year, featured a 5km fun run/walk which took participants through a series of colour stations.
The stations were manned by volunteers armed with buckets of colourful powder, which they threw over people as they ran or walked by.
The event, a Friends of St Joseph’s School Temuka PTA fundraiser, raised about $10,000.
Committee member Rose Rooney said the event, which was the group’s major fundraiser of the year, was a great success, thanks to perfect weather conditions on the day.
“We had a fantastic day for a start, which was awesome, and a great crowd of around 600,” she said.
“Everyone loved it and it was a lot of fun.”
She said the group would put the money towards a range of school projects, including a new amenities block, camps and bus trips – wherever there was a need.
