With just a few weeks until Easter, the Timaru District Choir is preparing to celebrate the special time.
The choir is holding a concert, entitled “Easter Story”, in the Trinity Church, College Rd, from 2pm on Saturday, April 13.
Tickets will be available at the door and include an Easter tea after the concert.
The musical director is Margaret Foley, who is a well-known piano teacher, accompanist and choral conductor.
The programme will include solo and small group items as well as lots of choral pieces accompanied by piano or organ.
The Timaru District Choir was formed more than 75 years ago and the music it performs ranges from classical-religious music by composers such as Handel through to jazz and pop, depending on the style of the concert.
The choir aims to produce three varied concerts a year and loves the challenge of singing four-part harmony. Choir numbers vary from 20 to more than 30.
